artist:artist is the result of a year long mentoring project made possible by a grant from the Maine Community Foundation. The program matches artists from Spindleworks with artists in the community for monthly “Art dates” as a means of sparking creative friendships that allow for exploration and discovery. The artist:artist program helps the Spindleworks artists expand their creative network while at the same time contributing to an increased community understanding of diversity and disability. By visiting galleries and museums, sketching together, attending a play, or simply sharing conversation about their artwork, these pairs are learning from each other and inspiring one another. In October, come see what they have been up to over the past year. The exhibit includes collaborative as well as individual work of the 20 artists involved. Meet the artists during the second Friday ArtWalk in Brunswick between 5-6pm at the Little Dog Coffee Shop, or back at Spindleworks until 8pm.
Spindleworks artists in this exhibit: Melissa Capuano, Emma Becker, Kim Christensen, Grace McKenna, Angela Alderete, Mitch Pfeifle, Barbara Carter, Kelly Weingart, Kaley Willette, Diane Black
