There are TWO Fantastic Fridays coming up!
What: Water Bodies, opening reception
When: May 8th, 5-8pm
Where: Frontier Cafe
14 Maine Street, Brunswick
“Water Bodies” is meant to draw attention to our living planet both to celebrate, and to raise awareness of the diversity of species, all of which are affected by our actions and inactions. This year artists have been invited submit work in any medium, inspired by and focusing on bodies of water, or the bodies that dwell in our waters. As 71% of the earth is covered with water, there is no shortage of inspiration! In it’s 5th year, this exhibit has grown in popularity and has drawn art and artists from near and far. Please join us for the evening and be sure to make reservations if you plan to stay for dinner at Frontier. The restaurant is a loyal collaborator in bringing this exhibit to the public and does not take any commission for work sold. A percentage of sales will be donated to the Coastal Humane Society.
What: The All Species Parade
When: May 15th, 4:30pm
Where: Brunswick Town Green
Don’t miss this rite of Spring! Spindleworks will be rolling out a new float for the year (shhhh!). This is a come one, come all event, not just for kids (though we are once again partnering with our friends at Arts Are Elementary)! Everyone in the community has something they love about the natural environment, and this is the day to share that love! Please arrive no later than 4:15 for a prompt 4:30 start. Spindleworks and Arts Are Elementary would like to thank the Brunswick Police Department for their loyalty to this event, and for making sure that our parade is safe! Our friends at the Coastal Humane Society will be bringing by some of their furry friends to visit after the parade, so come and stick around!
OK, so this one is not a Friday but not to be missed!
