What: Call for Art: Water Bodies
When: opening May 8, 2015, 5-8pm
Where: Frontier Café, 14 Maine Street, Brunswick
The celebration of species has become an annual tradition in Brunswick! Spindleworks and Arts Are Elementary invite the community to the All Species Parade, set for May 15, 2015 in Brunswick Maine. Part of this tradition is our annual exhibit at Frontier Cafe. This year’s theme is “water bodies”. As with the parade, the exhibit is meant to draw attention to our living planet both to celebrate, and to raise awareness of the diversity of species, all of which are affected by our actions and inactions. This year artists are invited to submit work in any medium, inspired by and focusing on bodies of water, or the bodies that dwell in our waters. As 71% of the earth is covered with water, there is no shortage of inspiration! We welcome diversity of artistic expression to reflect this huge part of our natural environment. This will be the fifth exhibit in the series, which has drawn artists from across Maine and across the country. Once again Spindleworks has chosen the Coastal Humane Society as the beneficiary of the exhibit. 20% from each sale will be donated to this important and well loved local organization.
