We are delighted to share that Spindleworks is host once again to a winter term student from Bennington College. Franci Revel, originally from Delaware, went to high school in Maine and finds herself happily back in the state for this bleak winter to join us at Spindleworks for her 7 week winter term. While here Franci is learning about the role of artist mentors, getting to know the artists, and sharing her writing and knitting skills with all of us. In addition, Franci has taken on the assignment of uploading more images to our online shop! She has also picked up the Spindleworks blog where intern Helen Mohney left off. So please check in at https://spindleworks.wordpress.com/ to catch up on what we have been up to through Franci’s eyes. You can also read up on the blog she is creating for school at:
We are immensely grateful for Franci’s work, bright spirit and easy nature.
While not a school in itself, education is part of our mission. Spindleworks is host to numerous students over the course of each year, including interns such as Franci, volunteers from Bowdoin, and OT students through the University of Maine system.
We believe that there is much to learn from the artists and staff here, and so we happily open our doors to students interested in expanding their learning by embedding themselves in their community. Students must be at least 18, and complete an internship application to start. For more information and an application form, please contact Liz at firstname.lastname@example.org
