The summer always heats up for Spindleworks: our artists’ work is in demand around the community so there are always a number of places to see it if you cannot make to our studio during the week. This month Spindleworks returns to the Topsham Library, and reaches to a new community for us: Pownal, at a great eatery, Edna and Lucy’s. If you are lucky enough to be up in the Blue Hill are, please be sure to visit our friends at DowStudio on Deer Isle. They are once again hosting a collection of Spindleworks art for the summer season. In the Whatnot Gallery, we honor our 35th anniversary by highlighting some oldies but goodies. See below for all the details and don’t forget to join us July 12th, 5-8pm for Brunswick’s Second Friday ArtWalk.

7 Lincoln Street, Brunswick
When: July 8th-August 2nd, 2013
ArtWalk Reception: 5-8pm, July 12th

What: Eat Here!
Where: Edna and Lucy’s
407 Hallowell Road, Pownal
When: July 5th-31st, 2013
Spindleworks visits Pownal for the first time, decorating the already colorful walls of Edna and Lucy’s. This sweet eatery in the center of Pownal is worth a visit no matter what, and Bradbury Mountain is just next door, so what we recommend is having a hike, then having a bite while taking in the show. They are on a mini vacation July 1-4th, but then open Wed – Fri, 7:00am – 3:00pm and Sat-Sun, 8:00am-4:00pm
What: Branching Out
Where: Topsham Library
25 Foreside Rd, Topsham
When: July 1th-31st, 2013
Open Library hours
Once again, Spindleworks is delighted to bring art across the river to the Topsham library. This year we are branching out from the front hall gallery into the library itself. The “half stacks” provide a wonderful display area for our sculptural work, some of which looks like it might have hopped from the pages of nearby books. Come see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Dracula, the Little Engine that could, and more in the quiet of the Topsham Library.
What: 20/20 Vision
Where: Dow Studio
19 Dow Road, Deer Isle
