Many are familiar with the artists and artwork of Spindleworks. But have you met the staff artists? Have you seen their artwork? The hard working and dedicated artist mentors at Spindleworks are also creative beings in their own right, and this month the community is invited to see a glimpse of what goes on after hours. When their Spindleworks work day ends, the staff go on to spend many more hours on their own creative passions. The current crew at Spindleworks is a varied and talented group, including a film maker, sculptors, painters, photographers, textile artists, designers and potters. You can learn a little more about them on our website, but don’t miss this opportunity to see their work in person. Come meet the staff weekdays at Spindleworks between 8:30-4:30.
Also in September…
Where: Whatnot Gallery, Spindleworks
7 Lincoln Street, Brunswick
When: this show has been extended through September!
ArtWalk Reception: 5-8pm, September 14
While the artists of Spindleworks are accepted and celebrated members of the artistic community in Brunswick, they are also part of a larger “population” that is still more oftenjudged or dismissed. With this in mind Spindleworks has turned the tables this month to put the Spindleworks artists in the driver’s seat. 23 Spindleworks artists gathered around a computer view and vote on artwork submitted by community members for “tiny”. The diverse exhibit has received rave reviews and has been extended through September. Join us during the September ArtWalk from 5-8pm.
