Off Rhode Studio
2204 Rhode Island Avenue, NE
October 15-28 , 2011
Artists Reception: 2-5pm, October 15
This summer, Spindleworks was invited by Art Enables to be part of a National Survey Show of outsider, folk, visionary and contemporary folk art from across the country. We were delighted! The hard part was that we could send just one piece of art. Anyone who has knows Spindleworks understands what a difficult decision this would be for us. After some discussion, we decided to have Betty Carter represent Spindleworks in Washington. Betty’s unique style has won many admirers over the years and she has grown not only as an artist at Spindleworks but also a teacher, inspiring her peers to try their hand at stitching. Betty is a truly great representative of the spirit and talent of Spindleworks artists and we are so excited that her work will be seen by a larger audience. If you are in the DC area in October, we hope you will stop by to see the exhibit! Stop by Spindleworks to meet Betty Monday-Friday, 9-1.
