THE SPINDLEWORKS STORE
The store is full of our famous weavings, paintings and drawings, books of poetry, sculpture, pillows and t-shirts, pottery and jewelry, bags and more! Come browse the ever changing supply of unique artworks. The artists receive 75% of the sale of their work and the remaining 25% returns to the program to purchase supplies.

SECOND FRIDAY ARTWALK From May - December
From May - October, Spindleworks takes part in Brunswick's Second Friday Art Walks. On the second Friday of each month, galleries around town are open from 5:30-7:30 pm, often hosting opening receptions. Spindleworks just stays open late those nights, so stop by anytime until 7:30. For more information about the Art Walks and participating galleries, check local listings or call Five Rivers Arts Alliance at 798-6964

THE STUDIOS
The Spindleworks program operates out of a large house in the historic district of downtown Brunswick. As well as weaving, drawing and painting studios, we also have a wood working shop, ceramics studio, and fabric arts studio. Smaller studios upstairs, shared by 3-4 artists, offer quieter working spaces.

The program emphasizes choice in the artists' day, offering a variety of classes throughout the week, for those interested. Materials are also readily available for every medium, thus enabling the artists to decide how to they would like to spend their day, each day. The staff, known as artist mentors, are available for help in the various mediums, and teach skills to promote independence in the creative process.

Spindleworks also collaborates with community members as often as possible. Local artists teach classes, and volunteers share their time and talents. We also venture out and about to see art exhibits, visit other artists' studios, and to go sketching. Monthly artist meetings allow the artists time to share their thoughts, concerns, and ideas with the group.

The typical Spindleworks day starts between 8-9 am, and ends at 2pm. The artists break at 10:00 for half an hour and then again at lunch for an hour. Our location in downtown Brunswick allows the artists to get out on their own in the community, to visit friends, shop, or have a meal.
